What materials are used in Melyn Jewels' jewellery?

Why aren't Melyn Jewels' rings, earrings and pendants gold plated?

Melyn Jewels loves brass and bronze! Both have been used for thousands of years, and for good reason. They have a lovely, warm golden colour that highly resembles solid gold, but without the expensive price tag. They are also incredibly strong, which means they'll handle day-to-day knocks better than softer or plated metals.

A lot of jewellers like to gold plate their pieces, so why don't we?

When paying for a gold plated piece, you're paying for a temporary ultra-thin piece of gold to be layered over another metal. It will eventually fade/flake/chip off. There is no guarantee how even this fading will be, meaning you may end up with patchy jewellery.

We don't believe brass or bronze should be hidden beneath a temporary film, instead it should be embraced!

The beautiful golden tones suit most skin tones, and with time can change from a bright and sparkling yellow to a darker, warmer amber. These colour changes can easily be reversed by gently cleaning your brass and bronzes piece with water and a little washing-up liquid. Easy. No plating, no wories.

Will there be any customs or duty charges on delivery of my pieces?

Melyn Jewels isn't responsible for any charges put on your parcel during delivery. Please check your countries customs policy before ordering.

Why can't I add a higher quantity of an item to the basket?

The dropdown quantity button represents how many of each item we have in stock. if there is only an option for one, it means it's the last one we have in stock. Contact us and we will do what we can to make the item you want.

Will my silver jewellery be hallmarked?

In line with UK regulations, all individual sterling silver pieces weighing above 7.78g will be hallmarked. Individual pieces weighing less than 7.78g aren't hallmarked, this is to keep the production costs down which in turn allow for a more afforable sale price.

RETURNS​

Refunds are happily accepted within 7 days of delivery. Simply send us a message via the 'Contact Us' page and we'll let you know how to return your order. A full refund of the product price will be issued to you on the arrival of the items, and on condition of them being unused and undamaged.

Please note, return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer and cannot be refunded, and custom made pieces are non-refundable.
